Explorer The Exclusive Outlying Island In HK-(1) !!

Lantau Island is the largest outlying island in Hong Kong and there have much difference type of attractions that separately located at the Eastern and Western part on the island as following:

Tung Chung Fort


The Tung Chung Fort is the best preserved fort in HK. During Qing Dynasty, the pirates, including the famous Cheung Po Tsai, chose the bay of Tung Chung as their base and made use of the fort due to its important military value of defense. There have 6 old cannons still intact, each resting on a cement base with enclosures made of granite blocks.

Ngong Ping 360 cable car

The Ngong Ping Cable Car connects Tung Chung and Ngong Ping. The 5.7km cable car journey offers visitors to enjoy the 360 degree views of South China Sea, Hong Kong International Airport, Lantau North Country Park, etc.....

Ngong Ping Crystal Cable car equipped with a glass bottom, the Cabin is designed to feast your eyes with the real 360 degree of view. You can enjoy and feel the magic of the unlimited view of the South China sea and the grassland slopes underneath your feet.


Ngong Ping Village

It is set on a 1.5 hectare site on Lantau Island, connecting with Ngong Ping Cable Car station , Tian Tan Big Buddha Statue and the famous Po Lin Monastery. This amazing cultural themed village to reflect the cultural of the Ngong Ping area.


Ngong Ping Piazza

Ngong Ping Piazza has 4 components including the new Pai Lau, Bodhi Path, Di Tan and a Chinese landscaped garden. The new Pai Lau and the Chinese landscaped garden are built in the Northern building style of the Qing Dynasty to match the style with Po Lin Monastery.


Friendly reminder:

The easily way to Tung Chung is take the bus "S1" from the bus stop located at the Hong Kong International Airport. The bus is cost HK$3.5 and the headway is around 10 mins each.
Except the cable car, you also can take the bus number 23 to Ngong Ping  by around 45 mins bus journey and it would cost HK$17.2 per person.
